Creating and Managing Categories in Gallery (WooCommerce)
This guide will walk you through the process of creating and managing categories in the WooCommerce Image Gallery. Categorizing your images helps organize your gallery and makes it easier for customers to find what they need.
Step-by-Step: Creating and Managing Categories in the Gallery
- Click on the Gang Sheet section to access the Image Gallery.
- Click Update More to view additional options.
- Navigate to the left tab to access various settings.
- Click on Gallery to view and manage your gallery images.
- Click Add Category to create a new category for your images.
- Enter a name for your category in the Enter category name field. This name will help you and your customers identify the category.
- You can enable the Image Overlay feature to add a visual effect to the category image. This is optional but can enhance the category's appearance.
- Choose a Cover Photo for the category. This image will visually represent the category on the gallery page.
- Click Submit to create the category with the specified settings.
- After submitting, the new category will appear in your gallery.
- To add images to the category, click Add Images and select the appropriate category for each image.
- When uploading images, select the Browse Files button to upload files. The app supports multiple file types, including .png, .jpg, and .svg.
- Tags can be added to images for better organization and searchability. Enter desired tags in the Tags section.
- Once your images are uploaded, they will appear in the selected category, ready for your customers to view.
- To manage existing categories, go to the Categories tab and select the category you wish to edit or view.
- In the category settings, you can use checkboxes to edit the use of images or select multiple images for bulk actions.
- You can sort the images in any order by using the Sort feature, allowing you to customize the gallery's layout.
- If you need to find a specific image, use the Search Images... field to quickly locate the image you need.
- To manage subcategories, click the three dots next to the category and choose options like Add Subcategory, Edit, or Add Images.
- To add subcategories, follow the same process as for categories. Subcategories help further organize images into smaller, more specific groups.
Pro Tip: Categories and subcategories are powerful tools for organizing your gallery and making it more navigable for your customers. Always use clear, descriptive names and high-quality images to enhance the customer experience.
