How to Prevent Customers from Moving Designs Off the Artboard

This guide explains how to disable the ability for customers to drag or position images outside the printable area (artboard) when using the Build A Gang Sheet App on Shopify. Locking artwork within the boundaries helps prevent misaligned prints and ensures cleaner production files.

Step-by-Step: Locking Image Position Within the Artboard

1. Open the Build A Gang Sheet app from your Shopify admin dashboard.
2. From the app menu, select the BAGS Products section to access your gang sheet-enabled items.
3. Click the Edit button on the gang sheet product where you'd like to restrict image movement.
4. Within the editor, click on Settings for the specific product configuration.
5. Find and enable the option titled Disallow To Move An Image Off Of The Artboard. This ensures all customer uploads remain within the designated design area.
6. Click Save to apply your changes.
7. Customers will now be restricted from placing or dragging any artwork outside the printable boundaries of the artboard.

Pro Tip: Enabling this feature prevents production issues due to designs placed outside of your defined print zones. It’s especially useful for apparel, sticker sheets, or DTG workflows where alignment precision is critical.
