Understanding Settings Within the Build A Gangsheet App
The Build A Gangsheet App offers a powerful set of customization options within the Settings panel. These settings allow you to fine-tune design previews, warnings, margins, and more—ensuring your gang sheet is perfectly configured before checkout. This guide walks you through each available setting and how it impacts your design process.
Step-by-Step: Navigating and Using Settings
- Go to the Settings tab from your app dashboard.
- Use the toggle for Show Resolution Lines to enable or disable design resolution indicators. This helps determine whether your print quality meets standards.
- When enabled, resolution lines will visually indicate if your design is suitable for printing. A warning box will appear around areas that are below resolution thresholds.
- Overlapping Lines can also be toggled on or off. When active, the app alerts you if elements in your design overlap in a problematic way.
- If overlapping is detected, you'll see a message such as: "Design is overlapping artboard. Please select a larger size."
- If this feature is disabled, no warning will be shown until checkout, so it’s best to keep it on during design review.
- Enable Snap When Moving to help align images perfectly. This feature ensures uniform spacing and straight positioning when dragging elements.
- Visual Quality allows you to evaluate clarity, contrast, and precision within your design preview.
- Toggle Background Warning to receive alerts when your uploaded design may conflict with the default background or edge areas.
- If enabled, this warning appears immediately after uploading a design and provides suggestions for adjustments.
- Use the Visual Aid tool to change the background color of the gang sheet for easier viewing. This setting is purely visual and will not print with your design.
- Artboard Margin and Image Margin settings allow you to adjust the spacing between the edges of your artwork and the canvas. This ensures clean separation and prevents layout issues.
Pro Tip: Keep resolution and overlap warnings enabled during your workflow. These tools proactively highlight potential print issues—saving you time, reducing errors, and ensuring your customers receive the best possible product.
